Desperate Escape: The Race Against Time
Gabbie quickly starts to panic about the whole situation, but she quickly realizes there’s not much time to panic, she needs to act quick and she really needs to get out of here. She grips the knife in her left hand with a firm grip. She pushes herself so she sits up straight in her hospital bed and moves her left arm to the right side of the bed. She quickly cuts the rope tied around her right wrist and switches the knife to her right hand. She pushes herself forward to reach for her ankles and starts cutting the rope around her left ankle. She starts to get dizzy, but is nowhere near giving up just yet and moves her hand with the knife to her right ankle to cut the rope, but instead she sticks the knife in her leg. She screams in agony. She takes a deep breath and tries to control herself. With her left hand she grabs the rope and with her right hand she cuts herself loose. She’s free! She grabs the cables stuck on her chest and connected to the heart monitor and pulls them from her body. The machine starts beeping loudly. She pulls herself up, one leg at a time and places them carefully over the edge of the hospital bed. Slowly she places her feet on the floor. With a strong grip to the side of the bed, she stands up straight next to the bed.
“Ha, two minutes, my ass with your two minutes”, she mumbles. Slowly she walks towards the door of her hospital room and sticks her head around the corner. There’s no-one to be seen. All the doors on each side of the hallway are closed. It should not be this quiet in a hospital, she gets chills down her spine by the vibe this hospital hallway gives her. She heads outside the room and quickly spots a sign on the ceiling pointing her towards the elevators. She moves, but every step she takes her body gets heavier. She slowly walks towards the end of the hallway and looks to the left and right, there are two options, but which one does she need to take to get to the elevators, she wonders. She looks up at the ceiling and spots another sign towards the elevators, she needs to turn right. In just eight easy steps, she reaches the elevators and pushes both buttons to go up and down. She gets dizzier by the minute and holds on for dear life to one of the big planters next to the elevators. The right elevator opens and she heads inside. Inside the elevator, she pushes all buttons to each and every floor in hope she’ll find someone who can help her. Before she knows it, everything turns black and she falls onto the elevator floor.
